SAURUS:ANCIENT ARCANA (MINOR ARCANA)

PART I: 0-VII

Last year, me and my brother start a project about Dinosaur-themed Tarot deck (He convinced me..more likely).And it took me over a year to finish all of the Minor arcana (Judgements just finished tonight! it is the last one.) in this tour I will explain you about the story behind these cards !hope you enjoy. I wish I could turn these into the real deck I don't know.

0:The Fool (Argentinadraco barrealensis)

This is the first card of the deck and for this project as well.So this is kind of the experimental because we didn't have the clear concept or anything yet just wondering around.In this card I tried to use the colour and art style that based from the original card,The tarot classic deck.

And for the animal I can't quiet remember why I chose Argentinadraco maybe because in that time I really want to Azhdarchid.

I:The Magician(Borealopelta markmitchelli)

Now ,the concept is getting clearer.I want to make the tarot cards that look like the classic version but instead of human I wan it to be set up in the prehistoric era. Therefor I will keep the identical items in the original card or hide them in the environment.Like in this one the identical objects for the magician are wood,coin,glass and sword.

I don't know why I chose Borelopelta though..I just love julius cstonyi work I guess.

II:The High Priestess(Monolophosaurus jiangi)

Nothing much here I start gettin' bored.And Monolophosaurus really loke so calm in thier fossil so I think he would fit the priest character.

III:The Empress (Maiasaura peeblesorum)

Now thing starts to get more symbolic,The carpet is the only thing from the classic version.I use Maiasaura to show the strong mother,from meaning of the crad,and thier baby

IV:The Emperor (Tyrannosaurus rex)

The Emperor.The Father.The T.REX

Nothing fit this card than the king of all dinosaurs.I think T.rex lay down on a king's stuffs like sitting on the throne would be really sick look!

V:The Hierophant(Cryolophosaurus ellioti)

My brother told me this card is about allure and hypnotise-ish something ..."a cult".And all in could think about in that moment is Cryolophosaurus with the head ornament it look like it could really use to allure the females.
